Free the Artist Community-Based Program

Primary Goal: To enrich and encourage the creative abilities of special-needs artists in the community.

Specific Goals:

- Encourage development of a creative working environment in each artist’s home by establishing a rapport with families and/or care givers.

- Inform and educate the community about the unique qualities of artists with special needs.

- Develop and implement a marketing plan for artists and their families who are interested in selling prints and/or original artworks to give some tangible reward and recognition. This will increase the esteem of both the artists and their families.

- Develop and maintain a digital audio and image database for each artist, keeping individualized software current and appropriate.

- Furnish quality artist’s materials to promote permanent archival artworks.

- Explore new and existing funding to support the program now and in the future.

- Train additional personnel to assure the program’s future technical support.

- When possible, train higher functioning special-needs artists to edit sound files for use in the individualized artist’s software.
